Great location! Loved the view from my window of Forsyth Park in the Manhattan Bridge. The front desk was very polite and professional. My room was sparkling clean and comfortable. Would absolutely stay again. Definitely check out KIMMI next door for amazing street noodles.
The Leon Hotel was an excellent choice hotel to stay for a week. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They even allow you to keep your bags in the lobby after checkout if your flight is leaving late and you have other things to do before you leave. The rooms was spacious and the main attraction in the room is that it has 2 windows seats. You are able to sit there day or night and watch the skyline at night and the people walking or on bicycle during the day. There are all kinds of restaurants and stores in the area that's walking distance. Our stay was very good and I highly recommend staying here again.
The pros: the room I stayed in was in good condition, with great views of lower Manhattan. They provide toiletries and slippers. The location is convenient for public transportation and the staff was nice. The cons: the location meant it is not quiet at night despite soundproofing windows. The neighborhood is...very NYC circa 1980s and may not be everyone's taste. The new AC also failed on the hottest day of the year but that happened at night so it wasn't too bad.
I liked the Leon hotel. The room was pretty spacious and fit my family of 5 comfortably. The view from the window was nice, the window seat giving it that added touch and cozy vibe. The staff was friendly and the beds were comfortable. I loved having a working TV in the room. It gave us something to watch when we didn't want to be on our phones. I also appreciated having a mini fridge. We were able to keep our water and leftovers refrigerated, which was nice. I was also a huge fan of the free water, coffee and assorted teas. That was a nice bonus I was not expecting. One added extra was the slippers we found ready for us in the closet. After a long day walking around New York, it was a relief to take our shoes off and put on the slippers, giving our feet some needed rest. I would say the overall cleanliness could be a little better as the bedside dresser/ nightstand was really dusty. The bathroom was decently clean however and was equipped with the basics.
