I stayed at The Brooklyn on June 8, 2026 after being stranded overnight in New York due to a flight delay. After an already exhausting travel day, I was simply looking for a clean, comfortable place to sleep. Unfortunately, that is not what I found. The room appeared inadequately cleaned, with visibly dirty floors upon arrival. There were no towels in the room, and the toilet emitted a loud, high-pitched noise throughout the night. The sound was so disruptive that we ultimately shut off the water supply ourselves in order to get any sleep. What was most disappointing was the lack of assistance. The issues were never resolved, and the overall condition of the property raised concerns about maintenance and cleanliness. There was even visible trash on the floor of the lobby during our stay. For a one-night stay costing over $345, I expected significantly better. Every hotel can have occasional issues, but clean rooms, basic amenities, and responsive service should be the minimum standard. Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay here again. I wish I would have taken more pictures because this is unacceptable.
Big suite, reasonable price, great location. We had a great stay while visiting our son, who lives nearby. Location was perfect - walking distance to our son's place and lots of shopping, dining and more. Our suite (201) was spacious, comfortable, and exactly as pictured on the hotel's website. It had some minor age/maintenance issues (such as bathroom plug not working), but was decently clean, had a nice bed, good pillows, and plenty of seating options (couch, three chairs, three round ottomans). The walls are thin and we could occasionally hear people next to or above us. Not a problem at night because we use a portable white noise machine. Staff was friendly. The common area is beautiful and looks like the website pictures, but no food or drinks are served. The neighborhood is fine. Yes, there's a variety of people, sounds, smells and some litter - it's the city. We felt safe the entire time. The best part for us was having a big suite at a reasonable price with plenty of room for us, our suitcases, and hanging out with our son.
