We’ve stayed at the Shoreham several times because, for the price and location, it’s hard to beat. As someone who travels often I’m not quite sure how it’s Rated over a three star hotel, perhaps the location? If you’re just looking for a place to sleep and won’t be spending much time in your room, it’s a great value. That said, if cleanliness is important to you, I’d stay somewhere else. The carpets are heavily stained and rarely even look vacuumed. I’m pretty sure the only consistently clean things in the room is the bed linens. The staff has always been friendly, which is one of the reasons we kept coming back. Our floor definitely was not vacuumed, Was Stained and looked as though it could’ve easily been cleaned with the steam cleaner, and multiple bottle caps were on our floor. I would not recommend using the airport transportation the hotel arranges. On our most recent stay, hector arranged transportation. the driver asked me to pay while we were still driving on the highway, which I’d never experienced before and found extremely uncomfortable. I called the hotel, and the front desk initially agreed that this wasn’t normal. However, after they spoke with the driver, they changed their position and told me to just pay him because it “can be normal”. Not to mention, he continued to go off of the path that GPS was telling me it was the correct way, which was another safety concern. What made this experience so disappointing wasn’t just the inconsistent response—it was that I felt unsafe. As a woman traveling with my 13-year-old daughter, I expected the hotel to take my concerns seriously, especially since they had arranged the transportation. Instead, I was left to handle the situation on my own. To make matters worse, the hotel couldn’t even tell me which transportation company had been used, so I had no way to contact the company directly myself And was essentially at the mercy of some random man driving me and my child on the highway if he was asking for payment even for a tip. The cost savings wasnt worth the unsafe situation we were put in. Overall, if location and price are your priorities and you don’t mind overlooking the condition of the rooms, the Shoreham is a decent value. We knew what we were signing up for from previous stays. However- because of how the Transportation situation was handled And the clear lack of concern for guest safety we won’t be staying here again.

We had a good stay at the Shoreham. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom, although very small, was also clean. The room itself was spacious, but in desperate need of some TLC, stained carpets, peeling wallpaper, and old furniture were all noticeable. Despite the significant wear and tear, the location was unbeatable , just steps away from Central Park, and great shopping. You can’t beat the price per night for this location.
