Lovey hotel with very spacious rooms with equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Clean and had all the essentials we needed for our 5 nights. Quiet nights which is a blessing in a very busy location. Lovely shower and clean bathroom. Shower pressure was poor but didn’t concern me too much as the water temperature was right. Amazing staff especially on the reception area..Damian was extremely friendly and kind as he helped us with our luggage to embark to our Uber. Definitely will be returning to this hotel in the future hopefully.
I had a good experience for my first time in NewYork since there’s a lot of happening places to eat and shop just around the corner. The subways are very productive as well and there is also a CVS down the street along with a Whole Foods which is very convenient. The breakfast is good quality. The only problem for me was that the lifts are very very slow and you could easily be waiting for the lift for 20 min as some are out of order. For 400 rooms only 3 lifts work which take forever .
If your reading reviews before booking so you can make a decision look no further ! This place is top notch when it comes to service ! Rooms are not first class and bar and restaurant are not five star dining but let me tell u about the service . The guys at the front desk both the workers behind the desk and the security crew yes security crew . They were amazing . Hotel is in a great spot close to everything u need !!! Has a Dunkin doughnuts attached basically ! When we got into town it was early and room wasn’t ready so they held our bags for free and offered to let us sit in third floor lounge till room was ready ! We checked into room at 4 pm . Put our luggage in room and when we did we noticed it was hot in the room so we turned down ac and hit the town . When we got back it was 78 in the room still very hot ! I went to desk in front and he sent someone up within minutes ! The guy there to fix ac was amazing ! One cool guy ! Did his best but ac was broken so he had to replace the whole unit which he did then he said let it cool down should be good by am ! Woke up next morning hot!!!! Went to desk they moved us instantly ! Then gave my kids snacks gave us late check out and all ! Then one of my kids had left a shirt in the old room they chased us down sidewalk to let us know they had found it in lost and found ! Turns out wasn’t her shirt but still !!! They deserve all the buisness they want ! Big big applause for you gentlemen at the desk !!! Well done boys ! Wow I’ll never stay at another place in New York if I can help it ! If u want your trip to go smooth and have free breakfast and awesome service in the coolest location in town go here ! Do your self a favor !!!! Great place
The location is perfect. Close to Bryant park, all major subway lines and many of the city’s attractions. You will never be bored or hungry staying here. On the downside, there are several issues with the upkeep of the facility. The elevators are super noisy and we could hear their loud banging in our room all through the day and night. If you are a light sleeper this hotel is not for you. We had a king room with a sofa bed. The mattress of the sofa bed was so worn out that my son said it felt like sleeping straight on the metal frame. The wallpaper in the room is peeling at the top (see photos) and overall looks like it is past the end of its serviceable life. The room felt clean, but at the same time unpleasantly neglected. Public spaces like the elevators also could use some renovation (see photos) The staff was very attentive and helpful and addressed all our needs during our 8 night stay. The views from the room were stunning and we got a front row seat for some of the post NBA championship night festivities on 6th ave. The Internet connectivity (WiFi) is also in a bad need of an upgrade. During most of the days I couldn’t get more than 1-2Mbps, which is practically useless for video streaming.
This hotel has a high rating due to the friendliness of the staff and providing amenities most places don't have. Check in was a breeze. There is only 4 elevators for the entire hotel which can be a pain getting up and down especially for Breakfast. This hotel offers free breakfast so my suggestion is go early to avoid the elevator issue and being crowded. The hotel is older but I am so grateful to have a kitchenette with a fridge and microwave. Our room was a king with a sofa bed and my only complaints would be to get thicker mattress pads for the sofa beds. The place was clean and the housekeepers fixed the couch mattress for us and ran the dishwasher. This hotel is a short walk from Bryant Park and about a 12 minute walk to Port Authorty and 10 min walk to Times Square. I asked for a late check out and the staff assisted with that and storing our bags until we left. This hotel has great value and with some small upgrades this would have a perfect score. Still cheaper than the other hotel I originally booked as well. If you are a light sleeper be warned you can hear the elevator moving up and down the shaft since it's an older hotel.
