The room was like a youth hostel for one -- you're really just getting a bed and bath. The room was dingy, the air conditoner barely worked (made worse by the fact that the window had been left open on a summer July day), the toilet ran constantly, and there was an ongoing mechanical whooshing sound from the hallway. If you only need a place to lay your head at not, and you're not a sensitive sleeper, this could good be a good spot if you want a room that costs less than other Times Square hotels (but by no means cheap).

The location could not have been more perfect, and so, I understand paying close to $300 a night. It’s NYC, I’m not mad. But, I expected a little more from the room. It needed updates on finer details like the metal rings on the shower bars were not attached, or scuffs, etc. The AC was set at the lowest setting (68) but I think it felt warmer. Maybe not. My big complaints: Neither outlet behind the bed worked so I had to plug my phone in by the door. It’s not that the bed wasn’t comfortable, but could it possibly have been any squeakier?? The frame was thin metal that if I just thought about moving was going to break. The noise level was fine! It’sTimes Square, so I wouldn’t say I didn’t hear anything, but totally acceptable. The window being closed with a ton of black tape was a choice…but the curtain was atrocious. It let in a lot of light (with the billboards does not go away) and was a cut off piece of canvas that had seen better days (see picture of it sluffing off). There was also a used razor cover in the shower when we got there, but the room was clean enough and the water was hot. A fluffier towel, or at least another one, would have been appreciated.

Checked into our hotel today and got up to our room to find the room was not cleaned properly. I went to the front desk to see if they had any available rooms that we could move to. Maria was the one helping us and she is the real deal! First of all, she checked us in and gave us a great New Yorker welcome and when I went down to change rooms she helped me again. She was on it! Dennis also helped her and he was super nice as well. They have a great front desk staff who are ready to help however they can. Thank you so much Maria & Dennis! -Ben

Overall my stay was meh. The hotel has an early 2000s vibe and needs some updating. For the price I paid, I was basically paying for the location. The room itself was small even though it was a “Deluxe King” room. The room was clean although lacking a lot of standard amenities you would normally find. There is no fridge, coffee maker or even a clock. There wasn’t enough counter space to put anything down. The luggage rack was small and would have fallen apart had I not wedged it between the wall and bed. The bath towels were really small and thin. They looked like rags you would use to wipe your car dry. The staff was very friendly and nice. They do offer to hold your luggage if you arrive before checking. Don’t count on checking in early or check out late as they charge ridiculous fees to do so. Overall it was a meh experience. I would splurge a little and check out other nearby hotels.

Arrived and got Maria as the front desk was super friendly and welcoming. Maria also helped us make sure we got the right room and were aware of how charges worked for the hotel. Jazz was amazing as front desk during check out she helped us talk to our booking agent and made sure we were happy with the stay and knew the final price. She also allowed us to store our bags till our train arrived which was really nice of the place. Anytime i have a photoshoot i will be booking with OYO because of both of these experiences. Will say the rooms are on the small side but they’re cozy and definitely enough room for 2.
