Heed everyone’s advice and recognize that these rooms are minuscule… I have never been more claustrophobic in a hotel room before despite having stayed in some smaller rooms in Tokyo, it just was a poorly laid out room. Unless you pay sub $200/night I would highly recommend against. I booked what was supposed to be a 287 sq ft room only to end up in a room no bigger than 200 sq ft. Suitcase does not fit anywhere. When I brought up the size they acknowledged it’s an error on their website as that size is only for accessible rooms despite the fact that the room didn’t give me a range but specified an exact size. At first they tried to gaslight me, then they didn’t want to do anything about it but then succumbed to waiving the destination fee (which is already pointless) and give some points. To make matters worse I’m IHG platinum and also booked with virtuoso both of which generally offer space based availability but in a comical sense - I actually got downgraded… the breakfast is decent - though quite understaffed and at time overwhelmed. The lobby bar had good drinks. The guy who checked me out was actually one of few helpful front desk staff otherwise service as a whole is quite mediocre. One of the nights our room was made and I had to ask twice.. minor note, the minibar which is technically part of the so called destination fee is supposed to be restocked but this wasn’t done but we weren’t missing much as it mainly constitutes one or two cans of coke and sprite. Location is good if you need to be in midtown. Only saving grace is hotel is new and the water pressure was excellent. I truly cannot in good conscience recommend this play especially if you’re not staying at a super discounted rate.

This hotel just opened a few months ago and feels brand new. It was so clean and I loved the room layout. Our room had a beautiful view. The happy hour and morning coffee were both unexpected bonuses. I really appreciated the lobby seating area. All the staff were very friendly. Also the location was walking distance to everywhere we wanted to visit.

I’ve been staying at the Kimpton Era for work 1-3 nights every week for the past 10 weeks, and it’s become my go-to in Midtown. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they’re clean, modern, beautifully furnished and really well designed so the space works. The hotel has two solid restaurants. Bar Rocco has one of the best cobb salads I’ve had anywhere, and the bar in Amasa serves elevated tacos and craft cocktails that are perfect for a casual dinner on a weeknight. What really stands out here is the service. Darya at the front desk is incredible. Even though she greets hundreds of guests every week, she remembered me early on and always makes me feel genuinely welcome when I walk in. That kind of warmth is rare. The location is also hard to beat. You’re right across from the TODAY Show plaza, close to multiple subway lines, and surrounded by restaurants, shopping, and everything Midtown has to offer. If you want a well-run hotel in a great spot with really strong service, I’d definitely recommend it.

I stay in NY a dozen times a year, and gave the Kimpton Era a go last weekend. Well I can tell you this is now my go to place. The staff are exceptional. And I mean that. Whoever runs this hotel has done an awesome job. From the bellhops to the front desk, restaurant and everything in-between. The view from our room was spectacular. It was quite tight - but the point is this; If you want a big room with those views, then quintuple what we paid. The value is in the view. I have a big room at home, but I do not fall asleep and wake up to stunning views of the Empire State Building. Who needs a big room. I live for experience, and this was it. With bells on. I am rarely moved to say exceptional, but this most certainly was. Well done

Stayed at this newly opened IHG property (opened mid-March 2026) and had a wonderful experience during our 5-night stay. I booked a one-bedroom suite without seeing any photos in advance, and it turned out to be a great decision. At around 624 sq ft, the suite felt impressively spacious for Manhattan, beautifully designed, brand new, and exceptionally clean. The layout, with a separate living area, bedroom, and two bathrooms, made the stay especially comfortable. From our high-floor room, we enjoyed views of Midtown, including Rockefeller Center. The suite provided the perfect setting for a small bachelorette celebration, making the stay even more special, and I had chosen it specifically for my best friend 🌸💕 The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of Fifth Avenue and many key attractions, and is also ideal for shopping, with easy access to many luxury boutiques. As a Diamond member, breakfast was included, along with thoughtful touches like morning coffee, afternoon wine, and complimentary minibar selections. As expected with a newly opened hotel, there are still a few areas being refined. Some details, such as breakfast information, happy hour timings, and the benefits associated with the destination fee (around $50 per night), were not clearly communicated at check-in. It would also be helpful to have more in-room information or a simple guide outlining the hotel’s amenities, similar to what is provided at InterContinental properties. That said, the team was warm and attentive throughout, and the overall service and prime location played a big part in making our NYC trip so enjoyable and memorable.
