I had a pleasant 4 day stay at Kasa Lantern. The place is clean, organized, and the free laundry facility worked out perfectly. The staff (virtual desk) is responsive and helpful. The location is within walk distance to SoHo, China town, shops/restaurants ,and subway stations. It is not a big hotel chain with flash design, but quiet and cozy like home. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location in LES, super central to trains, buses. Quick train ride to Williamsburg. Yummy restaurants and cafes all around. Love that there was a kitchenette to, as I was traveling with toddler. Would recommend and would book again in future!

Room was clean, entry/check-in/access was exactly as described and worked flawlessly for the week I stayed (this is very much automated so you need to be comfortable reading and following the directions - if you're looking to chat at check-in this isn't the place for you). Location cannot be beat - it's basically in one of the best parts of the best city in the world. The local area has fantastic restaurants, a wide variety of bars and clubs, live music, dancing. Room would probably seem small in most places, but by NYC standards it was a pretty spacious studio, with a very large bathroom for the city. I stayed an extra day, and that was easy to do. Overall this is probably the only place I've stayed in NYC that falls into my recommended list - I've stayed at nicer hotels in the city, but they were considerably more expensive and I don't think what I got was worth it. Overall I felt like KASA was a really solid balance of cost vs. quality.

I had a great stay at the Lantern! I stayed in a typical King room, and overall had a really positive experience. The location is definitely the biggest plus, right on Delancey/Essex St in the Lower East Side. It’s close to multiple train lines, so getting to Midtown, Uptown, and Brooklyn was super easy. Everything was very clean throughout the property. The room was a bit smaller than I initially expected, but that’s pretty typical for New York. We had an okay view, but really loved the large window and bench seating area. The mini kitchen setup with hotplates was nice to have. I was a little disappointed there wasn’t a freezer, and in our room the hotplate didn’t get hot enough to boil water, so we ended up using the kettle to cook. Not a big issue overall, but something to keep in mind if you plan on cooking more often. My favorite amenity was the 24/7 laundry room and having detergent and dryer sheets provided was a huge plus. Daily light housekeeping was also appreciated, with fresh towels and linens and the bed made each day. Noise-wise, the walls were a bit thin. You could hear neighbors even when they weren’t being loud, and the elevator was noticeable. Being on a busy street, there’s also constant traffic and street noise, but that’s kind of just New York haha. Overall, it was a solid stay in a great location, and I’d definitely consider staying at this Kasa again!
