Reviews
This is one of my favorite Ace Hotels, hands down! I stayed in a skyline room, and the view was incredible. I was here for work and was able to use the common areas for work meetings, which was very convenient. Special shout-out to Ron Lewis, their front office director - he helped me track down a missing receipt from their restaurant for my pesky expense report. He and his team went the extra mile, and I was so grateful. If you are staying in Brooklyn, you must stay at the Ace!
I'll start by saying I don't often leave reviews but felt compelled to in this case. Pros: very well located near lots of subways, room was fairly spacious for NYC and clean Cons: the doors to the room slam, so you hear that at all hours since it's a party hotel. The biggest con, is that I left my vintage wedding dress for my friend to pick up at the front desk and the way the whole situation was handled was such a disappointment. When I checked out, I left vintage wedding dress for my friend to pick up with her name and number on the bag and I was given a luggage tag but was never told that was any time frame in which it needed to be picked it up. Arguably she waited a long time and came to pick it up about 12 days later, she never received a call from them telling her she needed to pick it up in the meantime. When she gave the luggage tag, they said they couldn't locate it... I tried following up several times and eventually received an email from the Front Desk Director which I was really grateful for. He let me know there was a 24 hold period (the very first time i was hearing about it) but said he would look into it, I provided all the details requested and then never heard from anyone again in spite of following up several times. I used to work in hospitality in NYC at another comparable hotel, and was absolutely floored by the way this was handled (or not handled). I know there's an inherent risk to leaving something at the front desk, and I take accountability for that.. but the whole situation felt incredibly mishandled, the people who "tried to help" were generally very dismissive and completely not responsive. The whole situation, was incredibly upsetting because it's a one of a kind vintage wedding dress that cannot be replaced. Overall, fine hotel, but absolutely do not leave anything of value in their care and don't go in with any expectations of hospitality.
This place was so nice! From the check in to our room everything was picture perfect! They have a restaurant and bar which is very convenient. There is a metro stop at the block adjacent to the hotel and super easy and safer to have an uber pick you up in front too. Everything was clean and great quality. Great location in the city! I would gladly stay here again and recommend to my family.
Best experience we could have imagined. The room was so big and super clean. Great shower, comfy beds, tons of pillows. We had a cool view of the city from our room. Highlight was the staff. They were SO warm and fun, they made us feel welcome and at home. Huge shout of to Jay—so friendly, kind, and lovely! Amenities were great. Amazing gym with a bunch of equipment. The lobby has cozy and vibrant. Just a great energy all around. We will certainly be coming back every time we’re in NYC.
Stayed at the Ace Hotel for two nights for my daughter‘s wedding. It was a great space, in a great location in terms of the wedding venue. In general the hotel was super welcoming. It definitely has a vibe! The room was nice, bed was super comfortable. It’s New York City priced so you have to bear that in mind but all in all, it’s a great choice!
